Temporary Land Use Permit Location for Fall Bear and Moose Hunt Camps.

The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry have notified Red Sky Métis Independent Nation (RSMIN) that they will issue a Land Use Permit (LUP) for the attached sites for the purpose of a temporary bear or moose hunt camp if the outfitter applies for it. (Click on read more the the rest of the information and Map)

An approved LUP grants authority to the applicant (including clients) to occupy the site for the stated term and purpose. No ownership, right of access, or priority to resources is inferred with a Land Use Permit. Additionally, no permanent buildings are permitted and the site must be restored at the conclusion of the term. Usually the temporary structures used for the hunt camps are either tents or trailers. Most areas of interest have been used for these purposes since the 1970’s to 1990’s and the sites have been previously cleared.

The fall bear hunt season runs from August 15th to October 31st this year and the moose hunt runs from September 19th to December 15th. The outfitters may set up two weeks before the hunt commences and disassemble two weeks after the hunt ends. Therefore, the tents/trailers could be at this site for a range of time from 1 week to 16 weeks.
