The prescribed burn will reduce the area covered in slash piles while increasing the area available for regeneration and reducing the fire hazard. As part of MNRF ongoing efforts to regenerate and protect Ontario’s forests, some recently harvested areas have been selected to be burned under the guidelines of the MNRF’s Prescribed Burn Manual. The prescribed burn will reduce the area covered in slash piles while increasing the area available for regeneration and reducing the fire hazard.
