Introduction
We are commencing our summer student hiring process. As in previous years, all summer student hiring throughout the province will be administered centrally through the People & Culture department.
How to Apply
- All summer student positions will be posted on the external Hydro One website at HydroOne.com/Careers.
- Application deadline is March 1, 2015. After this date the positions will be closed and students will not be able to apply (only successful applicants will be notified).
- Instructions for applying online are attached.
- Students who anticipate being rehired must still re-apply online and meet all the hiring criteria.
Important Information
Students who do not meet the following conditions will be disqualified:
- Students must be available to work from the beginning of May to the end of August.
- Students can apply to a maximum of three positions.
- Students may only work at Hydro One for a maximum of two consecutive 4-month Summer Student terms.
- As a condition of employment, all summer students must provide documentation verifying that they attended school in the spring and are enrolled to return to post-secondary education in the fall. For example, an unofficial transcript or a letter from the school’s registrar office.
Available Positions
The following is a list of available positions for the Outreach Summer Student Program (First Nations, Métis and Inuit post-secondary students), which do not require a referral from a Hydro One employee:
- Outreach Summer Student – Clerical – Toronto – Human Resources Operations
- Outreach Summer Student – Clerical – Toronto – First Nations and Metis Relations
- Outreach Summer Student – Clerical – Thunder Bay – Construction Services
