Stillwater Canada Inc. seeks a highly qualified Community Relations (CR) Coordinator

Stillwater Canada Inc. seeks a highly qualified Community Relations (CR) Coordinator for the Marathon PGM Cu Project located in the Town of Marathon, Ontario, Canada. Stillwater Canada Inc. and the parent company Stillwater Mining Company are committed to operating in a socially responsible manner that reflects and improves on industry best practices. The CR Coordinator will develop strategy, plans and programs and implement them to help attain community support and advance the Project through permitting and into operations.

 This position is intended for an experienced professional with a proven background in community relations including First Nations and Metis in Canada and media relations. The successful candidate will report to the Environmental Manager and General Manager. The position will be based in the Marathon area.  The CR Coordinator will work as a member of the Project team; oversee community relations including those with First Nations and Metis groups; align communications expertise with the Project to support permitting processes and requirements during operations; prepare an annual budget; develop the community relations strategy and related programs and initiatives in line with company values, policies and procedures and sustainable and socially responsible practices; identify social risks and implement strategic solutions; monitor, evaluate and track activities.

 The successful candidate is a strong leader, influencer and facilitator with a minimum of five years professional resource-based experience, a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, professional level fluency in spoken and written English language and strong computer skills. Proficiency in Ojibway is an asset and knowledge of Ojibway and Metis people is essential.
