City of Thunder Bay Public Art Program 
“WinterFest 2013 Snow Sculptures”

The City will be hosting the first annual WinterFest at Prince Arthur’s Landing on Family Day, Monday February 18th. Snow sculptures will be featured as part of the programming for the event, which is intended to develop over the years into a premiere snow sculpture festival.

Local and regional artists/teams (max. 4 participants) are invited to provide concepts for a maximum of three (3) snow sculptures to be created from three 8′ x 8′ x 8′ blocks of snow provided by the City. Selected artists will each be provided with a $300 honorarium and a daily meal ticket while the carving is taking place. Carving will take place between Friday February 15th until 1:00pm on Monday the 18th.

In addition, the City will provide three 3′ x 3′ x 3′ blocks and three 4′ x 4′ x 6′ blocks, which will be carved during the afternoon on February 18th as part of the park programming.
An honorarium and meal ticket will not be provided for the smaller blocks.
