John Ralston Saul, a Canadian writer and philosopher, has written an excellent book called “A Fair Country”. It talks about the true nature of Canadian ideas and influences, as a Métis nation. We have uncovered a great video on Youtube that has an interview with Mr. Saul about his book. Watch and enjoy:

We’ve been made aware that residents of Marathon and Pic River are currently barricading chemical trucks, which are trying to deposit pulping liquors from the Marathon Pulp plant into a spill basin, located 3 km from Marathon. Here are two news articles that are talking about the issue:
RSMIN has requested consultation with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment on the matter, so as an Aboriginal community we are properly consulted on the environmental impact of the chemicals being put into the spill basin. If you are a RSMIN member, live in the area, or have concerns about this issue, please contact us.
We’re proud to announce that we’ve launched our updated website for our Red Sky Métis Independent Nation community. After months of preparation, we launched the new and improved website on December 4th, 2009. Today, you can find lots of information on our Firearms Centre, Employment Centre, as well as our community’s history. We’ve also established a forum for our members to connect with RSMIN leadership, so you can ask any of your questions or voice concerns regarding issues that are important to you.
Also, we encourage you to register for a free site account. It’s easy and quick to register, and there will be benefits in the future for visitors that register with our site.
Stay tuned and check back with us on the site, as we’ll be adding to future content and making your community experience better as the months after launch progress.
