Hydro One New Grad Training and Development Program: FirstNations and Metis Relations

Hydro One is currently seeking a candidate for their New Grad training and development program within their First Nations and Métis relations division.

Job Location:  Toronto, Ontario

Division:  Strategy, First Nations and Métis Relations

Job Description:  Ensuring the implementation of Hydro One’s First Nations and Métis Relations policy including:

  • Continue to build positive, mutually beneficial relationships with First Nations & Métis communities.
  • Where appropriate, undertake together with the Crown, consultation with First Nations & Métis peoples and communities in the early stages of, and throughout, projects or other activities that may influence them.
  • Help Hydro One employees to understand the unique legal, historical and cultural significance of First Nations & Métis peoples, for the purpose of promoting effective relationships with First Nations & Métis customers and communities.
  • Promote business and workforce development for First Nations & Métis peoples.

 Selection Criteria

  • Minimum Education:  Bachelor of Business Administration, Political Science, Communications, or Indigenous Studies
  • Must have a strong understanding of First Nations & Métis culture
  • Awareness of the unique needs of the First Nations & Métis Human Resources Development Strategy
  • Understanding of Aboriginal Consultation requirements

 Candidates selected for this position will be included in Hydro One’s New Grad training and development program.  Over the course of this two-year program you will have the opportunity to rotate through several jobs allowing you to gain experience working on different projects and in different environments.  In addition, you will be provided with a range of technical and non-technical training.
