One (1) Position: Temporary Field Assistant
Location: Marathon, Ontario
Job Type: Contract
Length: 7 Days, February 16th to 23rd, 2015
Remuneration: Daily
Description:
The position is located in Marathon, Ontario as a temporary field assistant. The daily activities will be to travel to and from the field with the Field Technician and will assist with all tasks involved with a magnetic survey. Field equipment will be provided however applicant is responsible for supplying their own appropriate clothing. A safe work environment is a priority for SCI therefore all health and safety procedures must be adhered to and maintained.
Contract length will be approximately 7 days however may be extended depending on weather.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in a safe manner and comply with SCI safety procedures
- Providing assistance to the Field Technician
- Traversing in the field and breaking trail on snowshoes
- Use a compass, map, and GPS
- Move equipment
- Operation of snowmobile or ATV
Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario G Class driver’s license
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Standard First Aid training
- Working outdoors in winter conditions
- Outdoor experience/field work
- Experience using a GPS
- Snowmobile experience
