HYDRO ONE FLEET MAINTENANCE/POWER WORKERS’ UNION (PWU) HIRING HALL APPRENTICESHIP: TRUCK AND COACH TECHNICIAN

 

The Hydro One/ PWU Joint Mechanical Training Committee (JMTC) is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of an apprenticeship training program as provided in Appendix “A” between Hydro One and the PWU.

 

The JMTC currently requires Mechanical Apprentices to be hired at the start of 2015.  The apprentices initially will be hired in a central location and remain there for approximately two weeks. The jointly organized program is an 8000 hour apprenticeship that, when successfully concluded, provides a Truck and Coach Technician Certification for Utility Fleet Mechanic Journeyperson status.  Applicants require their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent) including Grade 12 Mathematics and English plus any equivalent related courses to qualify for the position.
